Taiwan Scholarship Program Guidebook for
Huayu Enrichment Scholarship Program study in Taiwan

Foreword

Congratulations on being selected to receive the Taiwan Scholarship or
Huayu Enrichment Scholarship and welcome! We hope you make the
most of this wonderful opportunity to study in Taiwan and wish you every
success.
The government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) established the Taiwan
Scholarship and Huayu Enrichment Scholarship Program (a.k.a. Language
Enrichment Program, LEP) to encourage outstanding international
students to undertake degree programs in a wide range of disciplines at
universities and colleges in Taiwan.
The program aims to promote understanding and friendship between
Taiwan and countries around the world, to increase academic and
educational links with institutions of higher learning internationally, and
to develop networks of outstanding professionals and experts to meet
the needs of global society.
This guidebook contains a section on frequently asked questions about
the Taiwan Scholarship and the Huayu Enrichment Scholarship Program,
as well as general information about living in Taiwan.

Please note that this guidebook is intended as a general reference only.
We recommend you consult with the staff of the International Students
Office at your university or college if you have any further questions
or problems. You may also contact the Taiwan Scholarship and Huayu
Enrichment Scholarship Program Office, and we will do our best to help
you.
