Category Program Title Contents
• Duration: 2 months (summer classes); 3, 6, 9, and 12
Huayu (Mandarin) MOE Huayu Enrichment months.
Enrichment Scholarship • Monthly stipend: NT$25,000.
Scholarships • Only for recipients from eligible countries designated
by the MOE
• Duration: maximum 4 years for undergraduate
programs, 2 years for master’s, 4 years for PhD,
and 1 year for the pre-degree Mandarin Language
Program.
MOFA Taiwan Scholarship • Monthly stipend: NT$30,000.
• LEP monthly stipend: NT$25,000.
• One direct economy-class ticket for coming to Taiwan
and one for returning to home country.
• For recipients from countries with diplomatic ties
with the ROC.
• Duration: max. 4 years for undergraduate programs,
2 years for Master’s, 4 years for PhD.
Degree Scholarship • Monthly stipends: NT$15,000 for undergraduate
(undergraduate or programs, NT$20,000 for master’s or PhD.
postgraduate) • Tuition and academic fees, including credit fees: up
to NT$40,000 per recipient per semester.
MOE Taiwan Scholarship • Over NT$40,000: the remaining amount must be paid
to the university/college by the student.
• A university/college may give scholarship recipients a
discount for tuition and/or miscellaneous expenses.
• Only for recipients from eligible countries designated
by the MOE.
• Duration: max. 2 years for master’s programs, 3 years
for PhD.
MOST Taiwan Scholarship • Monthly stipend: NT$30,000.
• Only for recipients from eligible countries designated
by the MOST.
Note: US$1 = approximately NT$30
• Does the program begin and end on specified dates?
The actual award period begins from the month that you matriculate at
your intended institution. All awards will end by the last month of their
specified period. Awards will be terminated when recipients graduate,
or if they drop out, are expelled from their institutions, violate Taiwan’s
laws, are given any major demerits, or their scholarships are revoked.
