Engineering forms the basis for exploring how things are made, how
they can be maintained and how we can improve on their design.
This programme establishes the foundation for studying and working
in the field of Mechanical Engineering and Plant Maintenance. It
introduces learners to the fundamental concepts of Mechanical
Engineering and Plant Technology. It provides practice in the use of
hand and machine tools, welding processes and engineering

drawing. The programme emphasises the importance of teamwork
and the development of a good work ethic.
Students completing this programme are ready to receive second-
level Mechanical Engineering concepts or can enter work as Junior
Craftsmen in the field.
