PREREQUISITES:
SJPI Certificate in Mechanical Maintenance Engineering 1
This second-level programme is designed to further expose learners
to studies in the area of machining, repair, maintenance and the
installation of mechanical equipment. Students will pursue studies in
Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), Computer Aided Manufacturing
(CAM) and Fluid Power. Emphasis is placed on problem solving,
teamwork and the inculcation of good work attitudes. At the end of
this year, participants will undergo a mandatory six weeks of industrial
attachment. Individuals completing this programme should be well
prepared to enter the workforce as skilled craftsmen working with
minimum supervision.
Students who successfully complete both Certificates i and 2 of the
programme will be awarded the Diploma in Mechanical Maintenance
Engineering. This programme further provides graduates with the
opportunity to pursue the Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Maintenance
Engineering.
