dietetics. It’s up to you to promote yourself and take charge of your
career, whether you are gearing up to compete for a dietetic
internship, starting a new rotation on your supervised practice
program, getting that first job, or working on your recertification
plan.

Career portfolios are an easy way to begin to collect and organize
samples of your work, your community service, your projects,
awards, hobbies, and materials from school to prove you have the
knowledge, skills, and abilities to do the job.
Schools and universities have discovered the benefits of student
portfolios as a way to prove students are learning what they need to
know to earn the degree. Today, many organizations introduce stu-
dents to the ePortfolio early in their school career and encourage
them to continue to add samples and projects throughout their pro-
gram. The new challenge facing students is not trying to find enough
samples, but figuring out which ones are worth showing. Taking your
career portfolio from a collection of documents to a showcase of
your skills and abilities is the focus of this second edition. You’ll
learn how to create and use a career portfolio to advance your
career.
