MQI ISLAMIC STUDIES CURRICULUM
All teachers are requested to review the curriculum guidelines in detail and implement the curriculum.
Levels by age:
• Kindergarten: ages 4-5
• Level 1: ages 6-7
• Level 2: ages 7-8
• Level 3: ages 8-9
• Level 4: ages 10-11
• Level 5: 12-13
• Level 6: 14 & up
CURRICULUM SUMMARY: Following topics must be covered in each class, if needed at times teachers may skip a topic to give more time to another topic. The timing stated below are approximate and can vary little bit based on the need.
CLASS DURATION:
• Kindergarten & Level 1: 2 hours (10 minutes break)
• Level 2 & up: 2 hours & 15 mins (10 minutes break if needed)
1. Student arrival (10 mins)
2. Dua’s - 15 mins
3. Quran Memorization - 15 mins
4. Quran Translation & Tafseer - 15 mins
5. Salah - 15 mins
o Level K: Learn the names of salah and their times o Level 1: Start salah book learning names of Salah o Level 2: Learn the actions and memorize
o Learn 3: Learn the actions and memorize
o Level 4 & up:
§ review salah and ensure all students know how to pray. For students
who do not know how to pray, please discuss with principal and
parents.
§ Fiqh of tahara & salah.
