THE FINISH LINE
can never forget September 14, 2013, when
I was admitted into JS 1 at Grundtvig

mates and other
students, but with the help of my hostel
master/guardian, Mr. Okolo, I found school life
interesting. I had always admired the senior
classes and I had always prayed to be there one
day. It was as if God answered my prayers. After
a short while, I finally found myself in the
senior level.
Then in SS 1, there were many challenges as the
subjects we offered were becoming tougher but
I thank God that it didn't pull me down. In SS 1,
many students were admitted into my class and
we didn't waste time to become friendly. I
continued to struggle to reach the highest level
of the senior class until I found myself in SS 2.
That was another tough level because we did a lot of things like the Leadership Training which was held
at Enugu State, the prefectship election and so on. In that class, pressure was on us as we knew that our
dreams of becoming graduates of this school would be shattered if we didn't reach the cut off mark for
promotion into the next class; but I thank God that after everything, we made it to the next class.
So far so good, I thank God for all His mercies in the last stage of this race, I shift into the highest gear,
overtaking the car in the first position. As I blaze forward, leaving only the skid marks of my tires as a
reminder of myself to you all, I bid GISS farewell. For no matter how bumpy the ride with you was, I
wouldn't have had it any other way.
Long live the staff and students of GISS. Long live the set of 2019.
