Examples of Banned and Recalled Products that have previously been listed include:
1) Dairy products used in the hotel, including fresh milk, which may contain melamine. It is mandatory to obtain certification from vendors for verification that dairy products (produced in China) provided to the hotels do not contain melamine. For those suppliers who are not able to provide hotel the certificate, we should suspend using the products immediately. Hotel should proactively review all other semi-processed or ready-to-eat products, which may potentially contain melamine.
2) Mary Ann’s Specialty Foods of Webster City, IA, is recalling approximately 3,536 pounds of Niman Ranch Applewood Smoked Uncured Petite Ham because the establishment number was not included on the label, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced on Wednesday.The following products are subject to recall: Various weight packages of “Niman Ranch Applewood Smoked Uncured Petite Ham,” bearing the following identifying use by/ freeze by dates: “2/5/2014,” “2/10/2014,” “2/11/2013,” and “2/13/2013.”
3) Crucian was removed from the shelves due to the positive detection of Leucomalachite green. The supplier is Beijing Haodong Trading Company, and the fish was sold to Carrefour Wangjin Store.
