RATIONALE
Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) is a four-year degree program that
is committed to positively impacting society (locally, nationally, and internationally) through
academic, applied, and educational research to build, expand, disseminate and teach the
information technology body of knowledge. The program aims to produce competent
professionals equipped with technical skills that meet the demands of highly hyper-competitive
technology.
Studying in this field makes learners analyze complex problems in identifying and defining
the computing requirements appropriate to their solution. Implement computer-based systems
and processes to meet desired organizational needs and requirements from a different
perspective. Evaluate professional, ethical, legal, security and social issues and responsibilities in
the utilization of information technology. To fully comprehend to this context, faculty and
students engage in IT-based research activities in pursuit of new knowledge and ideas resilient
to the changing environments and emerging technologies
I. WELL-DEFINED OBJECTIVES
A. College Research Vision and Mission
The Research and Development unit of the college is anchored on the vision, mission,
goals, and objectives as follows:
Envisions to be the center of research and development activities for the
advancement of the existing scientific and technological knowledge in
Zamboanga Peninsula.
Promote a culture of research and generate new knowledge responsive
to the needs of the region for socio-economic development and
advancement.
