VOLUNTEER FOCUS
TOBY ARNETT
Kudos to Toby & Lori Arnett, some of our wonderful volunteers. Toby's employer, ABB, graciously donated $1000
towards the Baca Family Historical Project! Manager Dave Jaramillo hands Toby the check!
Toby and his wife Lori have been dedicated volunteers for Angioma Alliance and the Baca Family Historical Project.
Toby has taken it upon himself to raise as much money as he can for the Baca Family Historical Project. He has
contacted several business for donations.
Toby’s son, Colton, has cerebral cavernous angiomas. He is a charmer! Collton is just like his Dad and is quick to do
interviews and pose for photos. He was recently hospitalized for a brain bleed, a scary moment for the family, but
he did well and was soon home being his normal happy self.
CCM1, cerebral cavernous malformation is a genetic mutation that can affect families in several ways. Sometimes,
only one child may inherit the genetic mutation from an affected parent. Sometimes the affected parent is non-
symptomatic and only learns of the genetic mutation when their child begins having medical issues. Sometimes the
parent and most children are affected. There is always a 50/50 chance that a child will inherit the CCM1 gene.
We are always looking for more volunteers like Toby Arnett. You can begin by just asking your employer if they will
make a donation to our project. They may say “YES.”
