Our annual appeal this year is the new formation of the 500
Club! Our goal is to raise $10,000 for general operating
funds which pays for travel, DNA testing, and booklets.

5 Reasons to Give! (Each newsletter will cover one reason)

2.) We Receive NO Outside Assistance from Government Sources One of
the biggest misunderstandings is that we are subsidized by the French
government but, in fact, the School receives no funds towards its oper-
ating budget. Rather, the French government only provides very limited
financial aid (bourse) to applicants who are French citizens. Just like any
other American private school, fundraising is an integral part of our oper-
                                                       ating budget.
So. . . If you can only afford a few dollars, make your gift anyway.
One of our annual fund clubs is the 500 Club which began this year.
Its kickoff was at the Alcalde Regional Conference.

We are trying to raise $10,000, and we’d like to do it $20 dollars at a time. By donating $20 you get to sign the mar-
quee where we are collecting signatures of 500 donors willing to support the Baca Family. If you can’t make the $20 at
one time, consider making it in $5 increments. When you reach your $20 gift, your name will be added. You can send
us your signature and we’ll add it to the board or we will sign for you. The marquee will be traveling with us to each
        presentation and conference gathering signatures.

Your $5, $10, or $20 gift can become a $10,000 gift to the Baca Family Historical Project
                                             and a $100,000 grant from a funder.

          Family Reunions 2019

Summer is a great time to get together for a Family
Reunion. Cousins get to meet for the first time or
reunite after many years of not seeing each other.

The Baca Family Historical Project would love to be part
of your family reunion. We will travel to your site and

do a full or partial presentation for all of your family.
We speak about the history of New Mexico, the Baca Family, and can help family members work on their
family tree. We also present on the Common Hispanic Mutation which causes cerebral cavernous angioma
in the brain and spinal column. While you may think that this is not a good time to discuss this issue, we find
that talking and sharing about this genetic mutation at a family gathering can open the doors to sharing and
          caring.

If you are having a family reunion, our project would love to attend and present. Please contact Nora
Chavez, Community Engagement Specialist, at nchavez@angioma.org or by calling her at 505-450-5902.
