3d: ceramics & sculpture

3D students have been working on both ceramic and sculp-
ture pieces. Beginning students started with making mugs.

They made both a coil mug and a slab mug using subtraction
and addition techniques. They also made a platter and a
relief sculpture. Advanced students have been working on the
wheel centering and pulling up cylindrical forms for use with
                                             mugs and vases.

        live art: fine arts chapels

        october 9, 2019

This year, our first Fine Arts chapel was split between high school and middle school. Our Fine Arts
teachers led in worship while Mrs. Nachtigal spoke to the middle school and Ms. Ray spoke to the
high school. Mrs. Rimmer had her eighth graders brainstorm and develop an idea focused on the
idea of freedom from guilt and shame through love, which went along with the middle school mes-
sage. For the high school chapel, Elizabeth Rimmer and Ava Jackson drew praying hands that
went along with the message of showing love through prayer. Both pieces were created live during
each chapel. The graphic design students created the chorus slides.
