A New Home

Periwinkle was trying to find a place in the
lovely garden to make a new home. The
hydrangea bush had several dry places under
the big flowers, but she knew that the flowers

would fall off soon and the branches would
be cold. She even thought of a birdhouse, but
they were all too small. She was about to give
up, especially after that awful storm, when
she took shelter under the birdbath.

Then she saw it! There in the big oak tree was
a huge birdhouse! It wasn’t there the day
before and Periwinkle knew that the kind
woman had put it there — for her.
