History at the Wailing Wall
The Women of the Wall are happy today. After twenty seven years in
which they (have been) trying to get a place to pray at the Wailing Wall,
the government approves today a project of a special plaza at the Wailing
Wall, for women who want to pray with a Torah book and a tallit (prayer
shawl). There are people who think this is history, because for the first
time the government gives an option even for (those) who aren’t orthodox,
to pray the way they want. Building a project like this at the Wailing Wall
isn’t easy, it costs a lot of money, there’s a lot of archeology, and also
people who want to preserve the Wall as it is today.
