Exercise: Act out the dialogue in Hebrew while looking at the English text.
Use other names than in the original dialogue when acting out.
"Aroma" Coffee
1. Actor 1: Hello, hello! Who are you? What's your name?
2. Actor 2: Hello, my name is (Name2) Who are you? What's your
name?
3. Actor 1: My name is (Name1) Nice to meet you.
4. Actor 2: Nice to meet you. What's up (Name1)?
5. Actor 1: Everything is excellent. How about you?
6. Actor 2: Thank G-d, everything's good.
7. Actor 1: Great! (Name2), where are you from?
8. Actor 2: I'm from Israel. Where are you from, (Name1)?
9. Actor 1: I'm from Russia.
10. Actor 2: From Russia? Really?!
11. Actor 1: Yeah, yeah, I am from Russia.
12. Actor 2: Wow! Do you speak Russian?
13. Actor 1: Yes, sure. I speak Russian.
14. Actor 2: Do you speak English?
15. Actor 1: Yes, I also speak English.
16. Actor 2: Do you speak Yiddish?
17. Actor 1: Yes, I speak Yiddish and a little French and a little Georgian.
18. Actor 2: And you also speak Hebrew!!! Wow (Name1), it's fantastic.
19. Actor 1: Yeah, it's fun! And you? What do you speak?
20. Actor 2: I only speak Hebrew, English and understand a little Yiddish.
21. Actor 1: (Name2), do you live in Jerusalem?
22. Actor 2: Yes, I live in Jerusalem.
23. Actor 1: Great! And do you know where there is an "Aroma" coffee
[shop]?
24. Actor 2: Yes, I know where there is an "Aroma" coffee [shop].
25. Actor 1: I really want coffee. Do you want coffee now?
26. Actor 2: Yeah, yeah, I also want coffee.
27. Actor 1: So come on… to "Aroma" coffee [shop]!
