Hadas (myrtle)- This is a hadas, but not just any hadas. In
our hadas the leaves grow in triplets, just like in a
formation, and that’s why it’s called a triple hadas. This
is the hadas that is kosher for the four species. In
addition, it’s important that the leaves be long enough to
cover the branch, and just like the lulav, it has to be
green and fresh. We need at least three hadasim in order
to fulfill the mitzvah. What a wonderful scent it has, the
hadas!
