The Liberty Bell
The original bell is located in the city of Philadelphia in the state of
Pennsylvania, in the United States.
The bell in Philadelphia is a symbol of the American Revolution, and it
became a historical site when it rang on July 8th 1776, in order to invite
the residents of Philadelphia to hear the American declaration of
independence.
When (they) rang the bell for the first time, the bell cracked. After (they)
fixed it, (they) found out that it doesn’t make a sound, and so (they) built
a new bell. This is the bell that stands in Philadelphia to this day.
The bell (they) had brought to Israel is also cracked, as a reminder of the
original bell.
In American history the bell rang several other times:
? When the first American Congress was opened.
? In 1837 the bell rang when (they) abolished slavery, and so became
a symbol of the Anti-Slavery Movement.
