Bana’s Last Tweet

Bana Alabed is a seven-year-old girl from the city of Aleppo in northern
Syria. For several months President al-Assad’s army (has been) bombing
the city. Bana opened a Twitter account with her mother’s help, and in
recent months she (has been) tweeting on it and telling about life under
bombardments. Bana has more than a hundred thousand followers from all
over the world, who catch up on what’s happening in Syria via her Twitter.
Bana has become a symbol and a voice for the weak. On Sunday Bana’s
mother tweeted that she’s under heavy bombardments and can’t live
anymore. Bana’s followers worry about her and hope that this won’t be the
girl’s last tweet.
