AM, Unit 1
After several moments, Danny looked at me and asked if I was
OK. I said that I need to stop and rest. I don’t know if he was
being considerate of me or if he was scared to continue going
alone, but he sat next to me and waited until I recovered.
After several minutes, he looked at me again and said that all of
my body was swollen and my face was covered in a rash. He
searched in his pouch and said “Nadav, I think you are allergic to
something.” And I didn’t have energy to give him a hit. And I
only said, “Shut up, fatty!” And I closed my eyes. Afterwards,
they told me that I lost consciousness and Danny Hershkovitz
saved my life because in his pouch was a special syringe against
bee sting allergies. He kept his cool (coldness of spirit). He stuck
the syringe in my leg and ran to call the teacher and the rest of the
kids.
Since then, I must be careful of bees because the doctor told my
mother that I was very lucky to have stayed alive. Now I have in
my backpack a syringe like Danny’s, and I’m forbidden to go on
trips without it. In the spring, when everyone plays soccer
outside, when the bees buzz around the flowers of margosa tree
and the clover, Danny and I remain in the classroom and he
teaches me to play all different kinds of thinking games.
