Item #2 (High-Intermediate Level)
A Champion Without Hands
At the age of twenty one, the Israeli Asaf Yasur is the world taekwondo
champion for the second time. When he was twelve years old, he was
electrocuted and as a result he lost both of his hands. Since then, he has
gone through rehabilitation and today he is able to do things without his
hands that amaze everyone he meets. Asaf has been training in taekwondo
since he was sixteen, and he has always trained with non-disabled people.
In two thousand twenty one he won his first taekwondo world
championship. This time, his victory also means that he won a ticket to
the Paralympic Games in Paris in eleven months.
