2023 KEDUMBA DRAWING AWARD
WING A
The Kedumba Gallery is located adjacent to Coorah,
in the building which was formerly the Headmaster’s
Residence.
The Gallery houses the renowned Kedumba Drawing
Award, one of the most respected collections of
drawing by Australian artists, which includes drawings
by John Olson AO OBE and Margaret Ollie AC.
The Gallery is an invaluable resource to the School,
offering students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year
12 the rare opportunity to spend time in a gallery of
professional artists’ work within their own school
grounds.
The Kedumba Drawing Award 2023 was a wonderful
exhibition of drawings from twenty artists from most
Australian states.
The judge, artist Chris Cassali, claimed it was a difficult
choice to pick a work for the Kedumba Collection but
settled on a thought provoking drawing Still by south
coast artist Teo Treloar (above right).
Further, Ms Cassali recommended to the Kedumba
Trustees aquire another drawing, entitled Baby by Nic
Plowman, and this was also added to the Collection.
The Kedumba Gallery is now open every Sunday
between 11:00am and 3:00pm and is a rewarding and
illuminating experience for visitors.
The Director and Kedumba Trustees are grateful to
Blue Mountains Grammar School for providing the
Kedumba Gallery for the public and for the students.
