                                                                        ALUMNI NEWS

This year the School was delighted to
welcome back many members of our Alumni,
and whilst much has changed in the passage
of time, there was still much that triggered
memories of old and the ‘remember when’
stories soon flowed thick and fast.
In May we hosted a “Tommy Cuff Era”
reunion, for Alumni who attended during
the tenure of this fondly remembered
       Headmaster (1974-1983). Our Archivist,
Mrs Plummer, even set up a “Canteen”
servery in Coorah, although the ex-students
declared the food on offer would have been
quite a luxury ‘in their day’.
In September, we hosted graduates from
2003 for their 20-Year Reunion (over page)
and it was terrific to witness the strong
friendships and affection for the School that
       prevails among our Alumni.
All visitors over the three events were very
taken with the John Cunningham Student
Centre, the construction of which was in
full swing. It was also interesting to hear
the many faculties the building had served
across the years, from Science, to Library, to
Humanities to English, not to mention the
home of Pitt House and, latterly, MacLaurin
locker rooms. Our Alumni praised the
timeliness of its latest iteration and how well
it would serve the students of today.
Our final Reunion for the year was a joint
Anniversary for ex-students from 1993 and
2013, who happily shared the day in a joint
       30- and 10-year celebration.
It was a touching moment when our 2013
Alumni were revisiting the Performing Arts
Centre where many of them had spent so
much of their school life, and where they
spontaneously broke into the School hymn
(word perfect no less!). Bravo all!
