Farmers’ Market
HOSTING A FUNDRAISER ON OCTOBER 17TH
Mona ROCHON
This week, the Farmers’ market is hosting a fundraiser for the Huntingdon
Regional Arena. All donations and proceeds from the bar will go directly
towards critical renovations.
Last Spring, the arena won $25,000 in Kraft’s Hockeyville 2018 contest.
Added to that is a grant by the provincial government to the amount of up
to $433,500. But this grant will cover half the expenses to refurbish the
refrigeration system, which is in a bad state if disrepair. In order not to lose
this funding, provided by the ministère de l’Éducation, des Loisirs et du
Sport (MELS), the local arena needs to find the money required to carry out
the repairs needed.
The arena provides services to the communities of the Chateauguay
Valley. So, come to the Farmers’ Market this Wednesday, October 17th from
3 pm to 6 pm, Prince Arthur Parc, Huntingdon, and give generously. Show
your support by grabbing a hockey stick and joining the street game next to
the market. Help save local hockey! n
