A way I know that a concert is going to be
amazing is when I can’t find a parking space.
The venue was packed. But even though I
was commandeering my monster-of-a-
Tahoe, I managed to procure a spot about a
quarter mile from AVA Amphitheater. I didn’t
mind the walk and I didn’t mind the wait in
line for my media pass. I was simply happy
to be able to work with Marco tonight!
Marco Antonio Solis -- apparently, he is
huge! I am familiar with him as he used to be
in a band called “Los Bukis” back around the
seventies. My mom loved to play their music
around the house. So now, I wish I would
have paid more attention.
I was able to get in the media pit before the
show with a couple other photographers.
Right before the show started, a lady with
two men in black tuxedos asked all the
photographers to leave the pit. So, I found a
comfortable spot and waited in anticipation
along with 4,999 other Marco Antonio Solis
fanatics.
This long-haired Mexi can Casanova Marco
Antonio Solis has now been making music
for nearly 50 years. The Latin crooner finally
came on stage a little past 8:00 p.m. The
audience erupted with a loud approval of
screams, shouts, and applause. You would
have thought that The Beatles were playing
tonight, judging by the fans’ enthusiastic
welcome.
