Nick McBlaine & Log Train…at first my thought was that one of the group members is Nick McBlaine. I was
so wrong. In fact, all the members are Nick McBlaine! The band name is a combination of all their names:
Nick Coventry on fiddle/vocals, Peter McLaughlin on guitar/vocals, Alvin Blaine on
banjo/dobro/guitar/accordion/vocals, and Evan Dian on bass/vocals (and happens to be an amazing upright
bass player). Log Train is taken from the last song Hank Williams sang on the night he died.

A few weeks ago, I went to Monterey Court Studio Galleries and Cafe in Tucson and saw Bryan Dean Trio
(in this issue), so I decided to see who was featured this evening…and which dinner meal I was going to have
tonight. The BLTA (bacon, lettuce, tomato, and avocado) won me over with two side orders of Pizza IPA beer
(no, it does not taste like pizza -- just a name brand).
