No stranger to work, Azalea came to the United States from Australia on her
own at 16 years old to pursue her dream of being a hip hop artist. In past
interviews, she explained that she could not achieve her dreams in Australia
as the United States was the birthplace for hip hop and she felt as if she
needed to be close to the source to make connections in the music industry.
Azalea worked cleaning homes and hotels to make money upon her arrival to
the U.S., these experiences serving as inspiration for her song Work.
