MGS: (con’t) To define yourself as an artist, you have to target one specific marketplace, at least
initially. People have to understand who you are and have a clear understanding of what you stand
for. When I wrote my latest song ‘With You…,’ I did not write it with a grand plan in mind for marketing
success. It was a song I wrote from the heart and wanted to say something to someone very special.
It just happened to get a lot of attention. However, that does not really solve my problem or gain me
any ground as far as making any progress as a solo artist. Quite frankly, I never really wanted to be
a solo artist. I love playing drums with Trixter. I can't tell you how much I love being a part of the
band and how much I love to beat the ever-loving s*** out of drums! But those pricks don't want to
play with Trixter as much I want to. So, I have to find something else to do. My biggest challenge
right now is determining my place in the marketplace and how I can be most effective. I have some
ideas and as 2020 comes to light, I believe people will see more of my vision. One thing I promise,
it will not be mediocre. I have some ideas that people are not going to expect.

MH: Well, Mark, your words are inspiring to me. Speaking of inspiring, any last inspiring

words to your fans and to up-and-coming new artists?

MGS: To new artists…you will be on the receiving end of many opinions; self-proclaimed experts
who ask you to trust them and their guidance. Please be very cautious! There might be a few who
truly possess wisdom and true leadership to point you in a certain direction that may actually drive
you toward success. However, it has been my experience that the majority of these people are
nothing short of a hindrance. There are far too many individuals that offer negativity and roadblocks
to success as opposed to being a valuable component in your arsenal. At the end of the day, believe
in what you do and believe that everything you do can achieve success. The people that tell you
otherwise, there is no place for them in your life. You can achieve anything you want in this life, but
the likelihood of you obtaining this success is exponentially more difficult with too many roadblocks
in front of you. Case in point…did you ever think that the band Green Jellӱ would get a Top 40 hit
with ‘Little Pig, Little Pig, Let Me In?’ Believe me, anything is possible!

To fans…the one thing I want to say is Thank You! To the person reading this right now, I say, Thank
YOU! I would be nothing without you, the fan...the individual that waits in line, that buys the CD.
When Mom and Dad tell you to keep it down, you turn it up! It’s YOU that pays too much for parking
at the show, that buys the tickets and waits for the show to start. And when the lights go down and
the band takes the stage, it’s YOU that can be heard screaming your head off because you love it!
And damn it, I love it too! I love you! More than anything I do I love to play for you! And you know
what? I just don’t feel like stopping yet. Thank you for listening!

MH: Mark, thank you so much for sharing about yourself. We will definitely be watching out

             for you in the future!
