I was able to catch September Mourning, a hard rock band out of
New York, at The Black Sheep in Colorado Springs. I was excited
to see them because I had caught a small portion of their show a
little earlier in the year and really liked what I saw.

As the show started, all the lights went out and a video started
playing with comic art and a narrative of a fictional character. It told
a story of a half reaper/half human girl named September who is
navigating the world of the living and the dead freeing good souls
for a second chance at life. This in turn makes her an enemy of
Fate, who sends reapers after her to steal her soul.
