CL: How did you guys involved in touring with Geoff Tate?
MD: I was in a band years ago called Voodoos, and Geoff's wife Susan, who also manages Geoff's
band, came stumbling into our gig and was watching us play and really like us and asked if we would
be interested in coming to the states. Susan and I got to talking and she said you can come to the
states in 6 weeks’ time and tour in theaters with Operation: Mindcrime. 6 weeks later, we were touring
the US. I have been working with Susan since for Geoff on his last couple projects. We have had a
working relationship since 2014.
CL: If you guys were to identify with any other artists or band, who do you think that would
be?
MD: That is a really good question. Our style is really strange. We came from all different genres.
There is a little bit of blues, a little bit of country, there’s a bit of hard rock, there’s a bit of Pink Floyd
tone. I think we take from all these different influences and throw it all together.
CL: If you could change one thing about the music industry what would you change?
MD: It would be nice if the labels could find a way to promote the bands and advertise for them rather
than the bands trying to do it all themselves.
CL: How is your touring going?
MD: The tour is going really well; really smooth. We all get along really well…no
high maintenance.
CL: People have really taken to the band’s social media, right?
MD: Yes, the comments have been really nice and we have a lot of ‘likes.’
CL: As far as touring with Geoff Tate and Operation: Mindcrime, are you
touring straight across the board or in different cities? Is there time to
play a show of your own?
MD: if there is a day off in a city we are in, we do play a gig with just our band.
CL: So, what is the craziest thing that has happened to you guys on tour?
MD: It was the day I was off tour for 2 days and went to Austin, Texas. It’s
actually a very interesting story. There was a club you guys went to, a gent’s
club, and all I am going to say is that James had a very good night.
CL: Are there any plans to collaborate with another artist other that Geoff
Tate in the near future?
MD: Yes, Highly Suspect.
CL: So, you guys are all pretty young?
MD: Yes, we are in the 22-32 range.
