The whole night represented a great mix of their
extensive music library, including their number one
hit “Misery” and also, such songs as “Lately,” “The
Beginning,” “If I Told You,” “Dead Letter,” “Crawl,”
and “Losin’ It.”
They then took it back to their most popular album
with the song “Black Gold,” which dealt with the
subject of oil and the first Gulf War.
Then came the song that the entire crowd was
waiting all night to hear and sing along to, their
Grammy Award-winning song “Runaway Train.”
This song still reminds me of the impactful video
that was played almost non-stop on MTV back
when they actually played music videos. The song
tackled the subject of depression, but the video was
centered on missing and exploited children and
actually aided in locating many of the kids. I
remember that video so vividly, touching on a
subject that was so foreign to a lot of us at that time.
