Truth be told, I wasn’t familiar with either
artist, but I did some quick research on their
music. What I learned is about Mark Mackay
is that his music embodies that tradition;
wielding a guitar that fuels his sound that
can only be measured with a bow to the
legendary artists that came out Laurel
Canyon in Los Angeles in the 1960s, 70s,
and 80s… and continues today. His music
links to the renowned acts who see-sawed
the line between rock and country music, but
were also full of soul, such as Neil Young,
Poco, Jackson Browne, and so forth.
