I dedicate this magnificent and poignant song to
the memory of my mother, Mary Patricia Cleary
Plesha, whom I lost during the production of this
issue of ION. Mom was an accomplished pianist
and music was important in her life. She was the first
to inspire that passion in me. As a young child, one
of my fondest memories was falling asleep listening
to her “tickling the ivories,” playing songs like
“Indian Love Call” and “Moon River.” RIP, Mom.
Thanks for the lullabies!
