MH: Who are your biggest musical influences? Would you say you’re
at all like them?
MA: My musical influences…that's a tough question because I feel like I am
constantly influenced by everything around me in my immediate life as well
as current events throughout the world. If we are talking more in terms of
earliest musical inspiration, Sade, 2Pac, anything from Motown, R&B from
any era. I grew up listening to EVERY genre of music, so I truly have an
affinity for music at its core.
MH: When driving, is there a certain track that has you blasting the
stereo with the windows down?
MA: ‘Plate’ by BIA.
MH: Have you been part of a group that has recorded in the studio?
MA: I've recorded in the studio many times, but I've always been a solo
recording artist. I love to collaborate, though.
MH: If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
MA: Big Sean. I've loved his music since day one. I'm originally from
Michigan, so I'm definitely biased, but he is great and that's undeniable. Also,
Royce da 5'9”, J. Cole, Kendrick, Kanye, NBA YoungBoy, Lil Baby, 2 Chainz,
BIA, Sade. to mention a few. Ha ha!
MH: Mazen, thank you! I truly appreciate you giving us your time. I wish
you the best! Any last words to our readers?
MA: Remember that when someone tells you that you're dope, you tell them
you're NOT JUST DOPE. I appreciate the love and energy.
