“We’re going to start this off right.
Everyone please join me. I pledge allegiance to the flag…”
Aaron Lewis stood on the stage of Bernie’s Beach Bar in
Hampton Beach, New Hampshire, leading his fans in The
Pledge of Allegiance, opening night one of his two-night sold-
out shows. Fans removed their hats and turned to face the
enormous flag that flies above Bernie’s.
At the start of the second song, Country Boy, ION Indie
Magazine was able to catch the eye of Lewis, who shot us a
rare smile while we were taking pictures in the photo pit. Fans
sung along to every word on the mild July night. Lewis
stopped to tell a story in between the next set of music while
fans held up their phones to take pictures and video.
