This is my 12 year attending the National Association of
Music Merchants (NAMM) and is my 3rd year working
with Jeanne O'Keefe and The Lippin Group –
Entertainment, Media, and Technology. I'm thinking that
they work directly with NAMM in Anaheim as far as event
promotion and social media and digital marketing. Maybe
more? I also know they have 3 main offices around the
world located in Los Angeles, New York, and London.
So, these guys are the real deal. A full run-down of
NAMM history is available in our first report on NAMM in
ION Indie Magazine’s March/April 2019 Issue @

Being a musician, I enjoy these trivia games, so here is
one for you…can you guess what the following
companies have in common…Fishman Transducers,
Rudy’s Music, Kretzer Pianos, Emerson Flutes, QSC,
Oberheim Electronics, ARP, Fazola Piano, Leslie
Speakers, Moog Music, Dean Markley Strings, Donn
Bennett Drum Shop, Shimamura Music, Sennheiser
Electronics, and Carma Lou's House of Music?
Answer: Each company was named after its founder!
This review will be short and sweet as NAMM was short
and sweet as well. This year was so different. First of all,
Winter NAMM was held in June 2022 instead of January.
Maybe because of Covid? Maybe new policy? Maybe
they just wanted to confuse me even more? NAMM Show
is usually held in January with a second “summer” NAMM
Show in Nashville, Tennessee. These were combined in
2022 for the first time in the first week of June after being
shut down for most of 2020 and 2021 because of the
COVID-19 crisis. A small summer NAMM show did take
place in 2021 in Nashville.
