I’ve known these guys since 2002; Joe Nutt since his band Aftermath in the early 90s and John,
who was in Bad Habit, also in the early 90s. I’ve really enjoyed watching their crazy stage antics
throughout the years. The sights and sounds emblazoned in my brain include Porn TV coming out
of Troy’s bass drum, Joe Nutt disappearing (IOW, falling) off stage, a Slip ‘N Slide doused with beer,
Barbie dolls being hurled out to the crowd with broken pieces of manikin dolls lying near the 5-foot
drum riser with Troy trapped inside a fenced cage while audience members chuck water and beer

bottles at him. And, of course, their zombie-esque stage presence. Good times!

Tonight, they performed 13 Dirtnap Arizona classics in a 95-minute set…from “Freakshow” to
Psycho,” “Devil’s Daughter,” “Liar,” “Machine,” and one I haven’t heard, “Wake The F@%k Up,” and
a whole helluva bunch more. After the show, I went back to the green room, which now looked like
the janitor’s closet in a porn shop. The band was super nice and gave me some time to chat. Looking
for some more 2020 shows with Dirtnap!
