The title cut “These Old Bones” aims to hit our mortality square in the face. Even though
these old bones, as Scott says "ain't ever been this old before,” there's still a lot of spirit
               left in 'em!

Humor, pain, sorrow, and finally, peace with oneself, is the story thread of this album. To
put it simply…I call it "people put to music.” Sure, it has traditionally been the theme for
many a country song, but that's a big part of what life is about. If you can write a quality
song and sing it like you believe it, then you have the right recipe for good country music
               every time.

"Where I'll Be" stands as another great example of self-examining your own soul in the
midst of heartbreak. Scott really draws the listener in with the fabulously written and
executed "A Good Woman's Love,” which is done in the waltz three-quarter time style, not
               often heard of these days.

Scott has some fun on “Agree To Disagree,” along with duet partner Jill Kinsey and
"Critters,” which is wonderfully corny. But I dare you not to sing along! The song has some
very catchy and clever tongue- in-cheek lyrics. Be sure to watch the video for this song,
               too.

One of the standout cuts from this project is "Less To Break," which features some of the
best session work from fiddle virtuoso Joe Spivey. I would say that Scott is channeling the
great Lefty Frizzell's style on this one. It is easily my favorite song on the album and in my
opinion, destined to become a country classic.

He ends with the song “All I’ve Done,” which sort of ties in with the title song about how if
life ends tomorrow, he’s accomplished everything he set out to do.

I recommend you listen to this album in its entirety from start to finish. It takes you on a
musical journey with parallels of your own life that you will relate to along the way. The
bottom line? This is damn, fine country music…the way it should be!
