EOY: We've always collectively looked up to bands like My Chemical Romance, The Killers, and
Rise Against. Individually, we stray towards a few different styles. Jordan really enjoys folk music,
Michael is probably the biggest Beatles enthusiast we know, and Matt and Dylan love anything highly
syncopated with tight drums and bass. At the end of the day, it all collides…and that's our sound.

MH: If you could share the stage with one band, who would that be?

EOY: If we could share the stage with one band it would be My Chemical Romance…hands down!

MH: For those who haven’t seen you live before, what can they expect from your shows?

EOY: For someone who has never seen us live before, they can expect the same high-energy
performance, no matter how many people we're playing in front of. We have a pretty organic sound
and definitely feed off of one another on stage. Be prepared to jump around, sing along, and have
fun! Our goal is to have people leaving the show in a better place than when they walked in. We love
          getting people involved!

MH: Any best and worst shows Every Other Year ever performed? Any fun stories to share?

EOY: So, our worst show was also our best show. It was the 2018 Warped Tour Battle of the Bands
Finals. We played last and it was probably the best set we've ever played. But at the end of night, it
wasn't good enough. It was a real bummer, because so many people came to see us and a lot of
them were pretty devastated. There was also overwhelming evidence of cheating by one of the
bands. We think most of the people were upset because of that. But, regardless of the outcome, that
show changed our lives. It gave us some great opportunities and we made so many friends who
we're still close with to this day.

MH: After this pandemic slows down and is finally over, what are your goals as a band and
          individuals?

EOY: After this pandemic is over, all of us really have the same goals for the future: create and
release music consistently, play more shows, connect with more people, and continue to keep
          perfecting our craft as musicians.

MH: Where do you see yourselves in 5 years?

EOY: In 5 years, we hope to be touring and playing our music worldwide.

MH: Thank you guys for giving me this opportunity to interview you. Anything else you want
the readers of ION Indie Magazine to know? Any last words?

EOY: Pleasure's ours! Thank you so much for reaching out. We'd just like to say that we're beyond
excited to share the rest of our new album with everyone! We feel it's a vibe that not a lot of bands
are encompassing anymore -- refreshing nostalgic vibes. So, stay tuned, and thank you ION Indie
          Magazine!
