resident aliens are not assigned an additional race category.

Two or More Races – A student who selects more than one race category. This category is mutually exclusive with the other race/ethnicity
categories. CHE methodology does not count these students under the headcounts for the individual races they selected.

Unknown Race/Ethnicity – This category is used only if the student did not self-report a race or ethnic designation, and the college or university

finds it impossible to place the student in one of the aforementioned race/ethnicity categories during established enrollment procedures or in
any post-enrollment identification or verification process.

White – A person having origins in any of the original peoples of Europe, North Africa, or the Middle East.
