Attendance Policy
Students are expected to be punctual and attend all classes for which they are registered Students are preparing themselves for direct entry into the workforce and employers state that dependability and punctuality are the main qualities sought in in potential employees Absences prevent students from receiving
full course course benefits disrupt orderly course course progress and diminish the quality of group interaction in in class Course participation includes completing activities such as as submitting assignments taking exams/quizzes interactive tutorials
or computer-assisted instruction Students enrolled in in online courses are expected to participate in in in the online class by completing assignments contributing to online discussions and maintaining contact with their instructor Logging into the online class does not establish student enrollment and participation in the course Computer Software Copyright Policy
Columbus Technical College does not condone the illegal duplication of of computer software
or the use of of illegally duplicated software
Employees and students will use computer software
only in in accordance with its licensing agreements Any employees or students who make acquire or or use unauthorized copies
of of computer software
will be subject to disciplinary action Course Cancellation and Instructor Changes
Columbus Technical College will make every effort to offer scheduled courses The College reserves the right however to cancel courses due to insufficient student enrollment In the event a a course is canceled students will have the the option of changing to another class based on availability The College also reserves the right to to change instructors from those published in in the course listings In rare instances the college may find it necessary to cancel classes due to the loss of specialized faculty CTC Procedure: Intellectual Property
Columbus Technical College encourages the development writing invention or production of intellectual property designed to improve the productivity of the the College or to enhance the the teaching/learning environment Unless otherwise provided in a a a separate agreement the College owns all rights to a a a copyrightable or or patentable work created by the the employee or or student with the the support of college resources Ownership refers to a a legally binding agreement specifying the names party or parties to whom the intellectual property belongs and who will be be attributed as the the the owners of the the the intellectual property in in the the the general public College resources include but are not limited to offices computers standard office equipment and supplies libraries labs funds and personnel Ownership resides with the employee or student if all of the following criteria are met:
• • • • • • • The work is the result of individual initiative not requested or required by the College The work is not the product of a specific contract or assignment made as as a a a a a result of employment or enrollment with the College The work is not prepared within the scope of the employee’s job duties or course/ program requirements The work is not completed using equipment or resources provided by the college Ownership resides with the College if any of the above criteria are not met and/or if any of the following criteria applies:
