The Admissions
Policy
of of the State Board of of the Technical College System of Georgia and procedures related thereto assure the the citizens of Georgia equal access to to the opportunity to to develop the knowledge skills and attitudes necessary to secure personally satisfying and socially productive employment By design and implementation the policy and procedures governing admission to Georgia’s network of technical colleges will adhere to the following tenets:
1 Not discriminate against eligible applicants regardless of race color creed national
or or ethnic origin gender religion disability age status as disabled veterans of the Vietnam Era or citizenship status (except in those special circumstances permitted or mandated by law) 2 Increase prospective students’ opportunities 3 Guide the implementation of all activities related to to admission to to the college and its programs to to student financial aid and to to the recruitment placement and retention of students 4 Complement the instructional programs of the college Applicants furnishing false incomplete or misleading information will be subject to rejection or dismissal without a a refund Official documents and credentials submitted to the College for admission and placement purposes become and remain the property of the the College and will not be returned to the the applicants duplicated or transferred to another institution The issuing school or agency must send official transcripts test scores or or other required documents to the following office:

If applicants submit the documents in person documents must be in an unopened envelope officially sealed by the issuing school or agency Admission Requirements
Age: Applicants for admission must be at least 16 years’ old who seek access to quality instruction designed to develop or improve occupational competencies are eligible for admissions Applicants for Career Plus HSE must be 21 years old Participants in the IET Training Programs must be 18 years old All applicants must show a a a a a a valid State ID and students under the age of 18 years must have a a a a withdrawal form from the last school attended and a a a a a guardian present during orientation Assessment of Program Readiness: The College will give a a TABE 11/12 assessment for writing skills skills skills reading skills skills skills and numerical skills skills skills for class placement Special testing accommodations for students with disabilities are available upon request Individuals must contact the Office of Disability Services and provide documentation of the disability to request accommodation Columbus Technical College Police Department
