Columbus Technical College holds a a a a graduation ceremony two times during the academic
year Participation in the graduation ceremony or having the the student’s name printed in in in the the graduation ceremony program does not confirm or guarantee completion of the program All requirements for the academic
program of study must be confirmed by the GED or HiSET Testing Center Examinations
Student performance testing is required every 40 hours(ABE)/60 hours(ELL) Instructor and Administrator Access
Only those instructors and administrators who have a a a a a legitimate educational interest in in students’ records will be permitted access They will request permission to review credit students’ records with the Registrar’s Office staff Credit students’ files will be reviewed
in in the Registrar’s Office or in in that immediate area Adult education student files will only be reviewed
in the the Intake Office with the the Coordinator or or or Intake Specialist Registration
Registration

Law enforcement officers court officials and attorneys must have a a a a subpoena or or court order before student record information can
be be released The College bears the burden
of making a a a a a reasonable attempt to notify students before compliance with the subpoena Personnel from accrediting organizations and government authorized studies are permitted access although all all personally identifiable information will be destroyed after use The Board of Directors accreditors auditors
as a a a a body may examine students’ records however records records or or or or information in in records records may not be be released to individual board members A student’s records may be released only with students’ written consent In an emergency information may be released if a a a a a person’s health or safety is at stake and if the person receiving the information is in in a a a position to act on on on it it Annually Columbus Technical College informs students of the Federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) This act with which the College fully complies protects the privacy of educational records establishes the the right of the the students to inspect and review their educational records and provides guidelines for the correction of inaccurate or or or misleading data through informal and formal formal hearings Students also have the right to file complaints with the FERPA Office concerning alleged failures by the College to comply with the act Transcript Requests

Withdrawal from Class
