Meet the Judges

NSAA offers a special shout out and thank you to this year’s judges for the National Marketing Awards. Judges generously volunteer
their time, thoughtfully and objectively evaluating all entries. Their contributions (and votes) play a key role in the success of the
                Marketing Awards Program.

                                         Michael Bisner
Mike Bisner is a life-long skier who has held several of the top marketing positions for global equipment
suppliers, including Salomon, Nordica, and HEAD. He has had a career in brand building and product
development that has allowed him to live his life as a skier as part of his career path. Currently Bisner
is vice president of sales/East for AXESS NORTH AMERICA. He lives North of Boston, Mass., and
spends winters on the slopes of Sugarbush, Vt., with his wife and two Newfoundlands.

                                         Ryan Davis
An artist and art director from Calgary, Alberta, Ryan Davis imports a constant stream of creativity (plus
some flannel and engine grease) from his roots in the Great White North. As art director at veteran
Portland branding agency Nemo Design, Davis has rebranded Mammoth Mountain, Calif., concepted the
brand launch for Ancestry Brewing, and helped reimagine the brand vision for rooftop-tentmaker Tepui.
Prior to joining Nemo, he also designed for Circa Footwear and Four Star Distribution in San Clemente,
Calif., and created memorable snowboard graphics—including the ’15/16 Flight Attendant Series for
Burton Snowboards. A constant in Davis’s life is the open road. He’s dirtbiked across Baja, mudded
out to every hot springs West of the Mississippi, and continues to explore remote zones and good times
                                         every chance he gets.

                                         Matt Neren
Matt Neren is a founder and partner at Cultivator Advertising & Design, a Denver-based creative agency.
Over the last 20 years, Neren has worked extensively in tourism and resort marketing, mountain real
estate, and outdoor industry brands. He and the Cultivator team provide marketing support to the Learn
to Ski and Snowboard Month, Professional Ski Instructors of America, and the American Association of
Snowboard Instructors. Neren grew up skiing with family and friends in New Jersey and Vermont. After
a few Cornell University ski club spring break trips to Colorado, he made the easy decision to move to
Denver after graduation. Now on most winter weekends (and on the occasional week-day powder day),
Neren and his two kids can be found enjoying Colorado’s high country.
