        Opened in 1964, it has been a nonprofit community ski
        area since 1992, when the community saved the area
        from closure.
            An annual ski patrol fundraiser called Bavarian
        Night remains the most popular event for the ski area and
        celebrates the long and storied history of Mt. Ashland’s ski
        patrol. Mt. Ashland celebrated its 50-year anniversary in
        2014 with a commemorative book called, Mt. Ashland 1964-
        2014, 50 Years of Family Alpine Fun. It is full of fascinating
        stories, people, and images that describe the history of the

        skiers and riders with the rich history of the sport is to really
        focus on just how cool this sport was at the time and remains
