                         Chairman's Comment

Welcome to the first issue of Something’s Brewing magazine, 2022! We’d also like to welcome
our new resident Editor Paige to the team.

After a year or so of working with us, Amy has moved onto a new role and we wish her all the
success and thank her for her time with us.

Paige has now joined us and we hope with her guidance and skill we can exceed to greater
         heights with our award-winning magazine.

Being a trade magazine we can publish general news stories and advertorials but our editorial
content comes from you, the reader, and our wonderful members. We'd love to hear about your
new innovative products for our trade as well as your training and success stories! We'd also love
to know about any job vacancies, new business relocations, and any charity events for 2022. In
fact, all human interest stories from within the beverage trade are welcome!

Please submit your content to: bulletin@beveragestandardsassociation.co.uk.

As I write, the media seem to be obsessing over gatherings at Number 10 rather than the news
that most, if not all Covid restrictions are now being removed and we have the lowest number of
young people unemployed for the past few years. This good news and achievement is great for
our trade and hospitality and is to be applauded.

With the fastest growing economy within the G7, we should be the first to shift from pandemic to
a more manageable endemic mode, in spite of any new strains of Covid, due to our efficient
         vaccine rollout.

Although challenges still remain with supply chains globally and inflation continues to rise
especially in commodities, such as coffee, I hope that there will be a further positive change in our
economy helping us get back to 'normal'.

So with our new editor Paige on board, things changing for the better, and the lessening of Covid
restrictions, I hope 2022 brings you all a renewed sense of purpose and optimism! I wish you
every success for the year ahead and hope that 2022 is the year for you!

         Keep those stories coming!

        Steve Slark
