The South Georgia Museum called for a revisit as well and we went in to use the
facilities, see the enormous wandering albatross and visit the gift shop to buy a
T-shirt with the king penguins on it. The museum still impresses with its organization,
the specific exhibits with excellent information given, and the dramatic photographs
displayed - not to mention the equipment, the models of rooms where whalers lived,
the theatre marquee and the room where whale products are exhibited.
To end our visit to Grytviken, we walked along the shore from the Museum over to
King Edward Point. They had opened the post office for us since that facility has been
moved from the Museum. We saw Pintail Ducks, Antarctic Terns, Blue-Eyed Shags,
Fur Seals, and tumbled blobs of Elephant Seals on our way.
