Several kinds of animals were waiting to welcome us as well. Chinstrap and Gentoo

penguins were quite numerous, both playing in the waters with their wonderful

porpoising and standing like sentinels on the shore. There were shags (blue-eyed) or

Imperial cormorants) and Antarctic terns flying above us as well.
