Some of the shags even sat on boulders watching us roar by with our noisy outboard

               motor. Weddell Seals were draped along the rocky coast as well as stretched out in


               the snow patches above the beaches. They hardly let our passage disturb them at all;

               only occasionally would one lift its head to watch us warily.
