The welcoming committee here consisted of some Steamer Ducks and their chick and

the cheeky, even brazen, Striated Caracaras who wanted to steal anything available.

They are quite a handsome bird really, lustrous brown feathers that catch the light

well, stern and piercing hawkish eyes, formidable talons on yellow feet, and

considerable curiosity.
