INTRODUCTION

In our early years, we read about history. In our later years, we become history.

Then comes the sad realization that we never asked our grandparents or even our
parents how they met each other, what their childhoods were like, or what was new,
happy, sad, frightening, or exciting in their adult lives. No, we never gave it much
                   thought; until they were gone.

So to my grandchildren and beyond, when you become my age and wonder what your
ancestors were like; no worries — here I am.

Read how my life’s journey took me from exploring virgin woods, rural and
small-town life in the garden state of New Jersey to five decades as a pioneer broadcast
meteorologist at Florida’s second oldest television station WJXT-TV4 in Jacksonville,
                   Florida.

And know, that as I enter the twilight of my life, I have been thinking of you. I have
tried to recall my adventures from childhood and family life to manhood and career.
This memoir is an attempt to record for you some of the steps I took while walking this
long journey in life before the passage of time caused these memories to fade.

                   You’re welcome!
